• Under the guidance of the Nurse Manager, you will oversee shift management and ensure the quality of care in your assigned area.
• The Charge RN acts as a communication link, keeping the Nurse Manager and House Supervisor informed about significant events and unit needs. You will provide initial supervision, assign patient loads each shift, and offer clinical support to nursing staff (e.g., managing patient assignments, assisting with admissions and procedures, etc.) while addressing and resolving patient care challenges.
• You will also play a role in mentoring new team members and academic partners, as well as participating in the annual performance evaluation process. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
• The RN will assess the needs of patients and their families, establish and prioritize patient goals, evaluate the delivery of care, and continuously update the care plan to address the biological, emotional, psychosocial, spiritual, developmental, and educational needs of patients and families.
• Delegation of care will be performed as appropriate to enhance patient outcomes.
• Compliance with the Kansas Nurse Practice Act is essential.

Essential Job Requirements:

• Associate's degree in nursing.
• Active RN licensure in Kansas.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be acquired within 14 days of hire or transfer into the position and before providing direct patient care.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification specific to the unit.

Preferred Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in nursing.
• Preference will be given to RNs with experience in a comparable healthcare environment.
