There is something for everyone in this scenic community.br brJob Summary:br brAssists the surgical team in the preparation of surgical procedures in the operating room. Prepares surgical cases by creating and maintaining a sterile field, retracting and passing instruments, supplies and medications to surgeons during cases. Performs a variety of technical skills, including the maintenance of supplies. This position is represented by OFNHP.br brJob Requirements:brbrEducation and Work Experience:br ul liHigh School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred/li liAccredited surgical technology program: Required/li liAssociate's/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred/li liScrub technician experience: Preferred/li liOperating room experience and/or training course: Preferred/li /ulbrLicenses/Certifications:br ul liSurgery Technician certification: Required/li liCardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required/li liCertified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification: Preferred/li /ulbrFacility Specific License/Certifications:br ul liAHA-BLS or ARC-BLS or AHA-CPR or ARC-CPR: Required/li /ulbrEssential Functions:br ul liPrepares for each surgical case by accurately checking required supplies and equipment prior to case. Assembles appropriate supplies/equipment prior to operative procedures. Reviews equipment inventory for specialty as assigned. Sets up operative instrumentation/sterile field for expedient retrieval/utilization./li liCollects data on assigned surgical cases by the unit based Performance Standards of Care. Cleans equipment and facilities as necessary. Performs housekeeping duties as requested./li liTransports patients according to unit schedules and priorities. Provides clerical duties./li liCompletes instrument, sponge, needle and blade counts with the Registered Nurse (RN) according to established standards./li liSets up/maintains neat and orderly sterile field demonstrating careful attention to aseptic technique.
