Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Director of Pharmacy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

An Interim Pharmacy Operations Manager position is available for a 3 to 6 month assignment in a 250-bed hospital located in Northern California. This contract role offers an immediate start and requires a seasoned leader with pharmacy management expertise.

Responsibilities include overseeing the seamless delivery of pharmaceutical services, encompassing clinical, financial, administrative, and information systems operations within the Pharmacy department. The manager will collaborate closely under the Director of Pharmacy’s supervision and act as the Director’s delegate when necessary.

Key duties:

  • Plan, organize, coordinate, and control pharmacy workflow and operations
  • Hire, train, and develop qualified pharmacy staff
  • Facilitate communication between the Pharmacy Management team, physicians, and hospital staff
  • Ensure strict adherence to state and federal pharmacy regulations
  • Leverage hospital and community resources to optimize operational efficiency
  • Serve as acting Director of Pharmacy in the Director’s absence

Desired Qualifications:

  • Proven leadership experience in a pharmacy management role
  • Strong knowledge of clinical, financial, and regulatory aspects of pharmacy operations
  • Ability to direct teams and manage complex workflows effectively
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise across departments
  • Familiarity with hospital pharmacy practices and compliance standards
