Administers medical substances for imaging or other procedures. Performs screening procedures for diagnostic interpretation. Coordinates patient flow and maintains procedure quality control.br brJob Requirements:brbrEducation and Work Experience:br ul liDiploma/certificate from an accredited school of Nuclear Medicine: Required/li liBachelor's Degree in nuclear medicine technology or equivalent: Preferred/li /ulbrLicenses/Certifications:br ul liState Nuclear Medicine License: Required in CA and HI/li liRegistered by the American Registry of Radiological Technologist (ARRT) in Nuclear Medicine OR Certified by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist: Required in CA and OR/li liVenipuncture certification: Required in CA and HI/li /ulbrFacility Specific License/Certifications:br ul liAmerican Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or National Nuclear Med Tech (NMTCB): Required/li liVenipuncture (IV) certification: Required/li /ulbrDepartment Specific License/Certifications:br ul liBasic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required/li /ulbrEssential Functions:br ul liPrepares, administers, and measures radioactive isotopes in therapeutic, diagnostic, and tracer studies using a variety of radioisotope equipment. Prepares stock solutions of radioactive materials and calculates doses to be administered by radiologists. Subjects patients to radiation. Executes blood volume, red cell survival, and fat absorption studies following standard laboratory techniques. Administers intravenous injections in accordance with established procedures./li liPerforms screening procedures for diagnostic interpretation./li liDocuments all pertinent information regarding radioactive materials and surveys in accordance with departmental procedures./li liObtains pertinent patient information and disseminates subsequent patient preparation instructions to patient care areas./li liElevates questions, problems and significant challenges to more senior staff for direction or subject matter expertise./li liPerforms other job-related duties as assigned./li /ulbrOrganizational Requirements:br brAdventist Health is committed to the safety and wellbeing of our associates and patients.
