\n New hire placement will begin at Class 6, Step C - $8,849.03 per month based on the current AFT - College Faculty /Tenured-Tenure Track Faculty Salary Schedule. Initial salary placement based on the AFT Faculty Collective Bargaining Agreement and is non-negotiable.\n

\n SDCCD offers a comprehensive fringe benefit package including employer-paid medical, dental, vision plans, sick leave, and opportunities for professional development. This position is FLSA Exempt and may not accrue overtime. Benefits will be provided under the terms of the AFT-Guild, Local 1931 - Faculty Collective Bargaining Agreement. Annual Salaries will be recalculated for service less than a full academic year based on Education Code 87815, any required adjustment will be made within the first pay period. Travel reimbursement for interviewees traveling more than 200 miles, one-way, may be paid according to geographic location (see SDCCD Travel Stipend Policy, Rev 7/14/2011). - Recent, demonstrated experience teaching college-level physics lecture and laboratory courses, including non-majors physical science and/or algebra- or calculus-based physics sequences for STEM majors. \n
- Demonstrated activity in the development of effective instructional methods to teach and support students from diverse and historically underrepresented groups, with clear evidence of cultural competency and inclusive pedagogical practice, including the use of learning theory, active-learning strategies, and effective presentation techniques in physics. \n
- Experience developing, revising, or implementing physics curriculum, especially materials and labs appropriate for general education or non-majors courses. \n
- Evidence of collaborative engagement with colleagues, lab technicians, administrators, or campus partners in support of student learning, curriculum processes, or departmental initiatives. \n
- Documented commitment to professional growth in physics and physics education, such as participation in conferences, workshops, disciplinary associations, or instructional improvement activities. \n
- Demonstrated cultural competency, sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty and classified professionals. \n
