Senior Accountant (Tax)
Job Description
Position Summary
Senior Accountants should have robust interpersonal, communication, and project management skills. Senior Accountants should provide the Accounting Department with operational efficiencies as well as guide junior staff members in completing workflows. Senior Accountants are expected to develop on both a personal and professional level during their tenure with the company.
Management/reporting responsibilities
This position has no direct reports and reports to a manager.
Primary Responsibilities
Preparation of personal, business, and informational tax returns.
Review personal tax returns.
Process monthly, quarterly and annual business accounting work.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
Supervise staff and assist with training.
Provide assistance to Accounting Manager on project based work.
Compensation
Salary range from $60,000 to $75,000 annually.
ABOUT YOU
A Bachelor's degree in accounting is required.
A minimum of 3 to 5 years' experience in the Accounting field is required.
CPA designation or working towards is preferred.
Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations.
Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and the ability to assimilate to new programs.
Experience with CCH Axcess software is preferred.
Agriculture experience is a plus.
Strong work ethic and team player.
High degree of professionalism and the ability to deal sensitively with confidential material.
Strong interpersonal communication skills including verbal and written.
Desire to develop and build client relationships, providing a positive client experience as well as to foster the overall growth.
Experience:
Public accounting: 3 years (Preferred)
License/Certification:
CPA (Preferred)
