Position Overview

  • Play a significant role in representing private and public sector employers in employment litigation matters.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of California employment law experience to represent private and public employers in complex litigation, workplace investigations, and labor matters.

  • Strong litigation, legal research, deposition, and employer counseling experience, with trial or arbitration experience preferred.

  • Trial or arbitration experience involving:

    • Employment discrimination, harassment, and retaliation claims.

    • FLSA and wage & hour claims, including class and collective actions.

    • Legal research and analysis.

    • Drafting motions, pleadings, and legal memoranda.

    • Taking and defending depositions.

    • Managing discovery.

    • Preparing EEOC position statements and DFEH responses.

    • Conducting witness interviews and depositions.

  • Strong knowledge of California employment law.

  • Excellent academic credentials.

  • Outstanding analytical, legal research, and writing skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

  • Strong client service and communication skills.

  • Interest in growing a long-term employment law practice.

Preferred Experience

  • Advising employers on federal and California employment law compliance.

  • ADA/FEHA compliance and disability accommodations.

  • FMLA, CFRA, PDL, and other employee leave laws.

  • COVID-related employment regulations.

  • Labor relations, including:

  • Labor negotiations.

  • Grievances and arbitrations.

  • MMBA compliance.

  • PERB/NLRB litigation and administrative proceedings.
