Competitive hourly pay rates and shift differentials in a well-equipped hospital setting Immediate start dates with ongoing coverage opportunities Supportive team environment with professional growth potential Quick Facts: Location: Steubenville, OH — 4000 Johnson Road, Steubenville, OH 43952 Start Date: 08/08/2026 End Date/Duration: Ongoing coverage, flexible by facility needs Shift: 24-hour call on weekends, 7a-7a; weekday shifts 7a-4p; night call 4p-7a Hours/week: Up to full-time scheduling as needed Employment Type: Contract/Locum License/Certifications: Ohio State Medical License, CAQ in Surgery preferred Experience: Minimum 1+ year surgical experience, OPEN to seasoned candidates Pay & Benefits: Pay package discussed upon application Weekly pay via direct deposit Comprehensive medical benefits (W-2 employment) Robust referral bonus program Travel, lodging, and licensure reimbursement where applicable Paid sick time in line with applicable laws What You’ll Do: Assist with cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgeries, including CABG, vein and artery harvesting, and intra-aortic balloon pump management Participate in hospital rounding, elective and emergent surgeries, and outpatient clinics Remove chest tubes, pulmonary artery catheters, epicardial wires, and other invasive devices Support surgical team through pre-operative and post-operative care Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for optimal patient outcomes Provide call coverage, including nights, weekends, and 24-hour shifts What You Need: Ohio medical license and current CNS/PA certification 1+ year of surgical experience, ideally in cardiac or thoracic settings Skills in removal of epicardial wires, chest tubes, pulmonary artery catheters, and intra-aortic balloon pumps Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong communication and organizational skills About the Assignment: This position involves providing surgical and hospital support in a dedicated cardiac and thoracic surgery unit. You will work alongside experienced surgeons and support staff in a modern acute care hospital committed to high-quality patient care.
