PQ Management Accountant

We're looking for a driven and detail-focused Management Accountant to join a well-established and growing business operating within the transport and services sector. This is an excellent opportunity for a part-qualified accountant or an experienced finance professional to play a key role within a collaborative finance team. You'll be involved in producing management information, supporting financial reporting, improving processes, and helping deliver accurate and insightful financial analysis to support business decisions. As a Management Accountant, you'll support the preparation of monthly management accounts and assist with delivering accurate financial reporting across the business. Key responsibilities • Supporting the month-end close process, including journals, accruals, prepayments and reconciliations • Preparing management accounts schedules and supporting financial reports • Producing balance sheet reconciliations and investigating outstanding items • Analysing financial performance and explaining variances against budget and forecast • Assisting with year-end reporting, audits and statutory accounting requirements • Supporting financial planning, forecasting and ad hoc analysis • Identifying opportunities to improve processes, controls and reporting efficiency • Contributing to finance projects and system improvements where required The Ideal Candidate would possess • Previous experience in a Management Accountant or similar finance role • Part-qualified accountancy status (ACCA or CIMA) or significant relevant experience • A sound understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting • Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills • Excellent attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy • The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines • Strong communication skills and confidence working with stakeholders across the business • Experience using finance systems (any ERP experience would be beneficial) • A positive, team-focused attitude and willingness to support wider business objectives In exchange the client offers a hybrid working arrangement, training and an opportunity to excel and grow in your role with room for progression.
