Reed Education is currently seeking enthusiastic and experienced SEND Teaching Assistants to work across a range of Primary Schools and Specialist SEND Schools throughout Wakefield and the surrounding areas.

About the Role\n

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, helping them to access learning, develop confidence, and achieve their full potential.

Your responsibilities may include:

\n
    \n
  • Providing 1:1 support and small group interventions.
  • \n
  • Supporting pupils with Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH needs, learning difficulties, and other additional needs.
  • \n
  • Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals.
  • \n
  • Promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
  • \n
  • Adapting learning activities to meet individual pupil needs.
  • \n
  • Creating a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment.
  • \n
What We're Looking For\n

To be successful in this role, you must have:

\n
    \n
  • Current and relevant experience working within a Primary School, SEND School, Alternative Provision, or similar educational setting.
  • \n
  • Experience supporting children with SEND.
  • \n
  • A genuine passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning.
  • \n
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • \n
  • A patient, resilient, and proactive approach.
  • \n
Desirable Qualifications\n

Applicants with the following qualifications will be particularly welcomed:

  • Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification
  • \n
  • CACHE Qualification
  • \n
  • Supporting Teaching and Learning Qualification
  • \n
  • Childcare Qualification
  • \n
  • SEND-related training
  • \n
  • Degree in Education, Psychology, Childhood Studies, or a related subject
  • \n
