Hays Education are working in partnership with a welcoming and high-achieving secondary school in Preston to recruit an enthusiastic and dedicated Design & Technology Teacher to join their team from September 2026. This is a full-time teaching position initially offered on a temporary basis with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate. The school has an excellent reputation within the local community and is known for its strong academic outcomes, positive behaviour culture, and supportive leadership team.The RoleAs a DT Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and practical Design & Technology lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the ability to teach Key Stage 5 being advantageous. You will inspire students to develop their creativity, problem-solving abilities, and technical skills, helping them to achieve excellent outcomes in a supportive learning environment. The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
\n
• Experience teaching Design & Technology within a UK secondary school setting
\n
• Strong subject knowledge across one or more DT specialisms
\n
• Excellent classroom management skills
\n
• The ability to motivate and inspire learners of all abilities
\n
• A passion for practical and creative learning
\n
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
