The Role\n

We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer to join a high-performing technology team on an initial 6-month contract, working on complex, scalable software solutions with a strong focus on AWS, Java and AI-enabled technology.

This is an exciting opportunity for an engineer who enjoys working at system level, solving complex technical problems and building robust, reliable solutions within a modern cloud environment.

Key Responsibilities\n
    \n
  • Design, develop and maintain scalable software solutions using Java and AWS.
  • \n
  • Take a system-level approach to software engineering, understanding how applications, platforms and services interact.
  • \n
  • Work across complex third-party integrations, APIs and external platforms.
  • \n
  • Develop and maintain robust automated testing frameworks to ensure high-quality and reliable software.
  • \n
  • Contribute to the integration and embedding of AI capabilities into existing and new technology solutions.
  • \n
  • Work closely with architects, engineers, product teams and other stakeholders to deliver technical solutions.
  • \n
  • Identify technical risks and opportunities for improving system performance, scalability and resilience.
  • \n
  • Troubleshoot complex issues across distributed systems and production environments.
  • \n
  • Contribute to engineering best practices, coding standards and continuous improvement.

Key Skills & Experience\n
    \n
  • Strong commercial experience as a Software Engineer / Software Developer.
  • \n
  • Strong Java development experience.
  • \n
  • Hands-on experience with AWS and cloud-based architectures.
  • \n
  • Strong understanding of system-level thinking and distributed systems.
  • \n
  • Experience working with third-party integrations, APIs and external systems.
  • \n
  • Strong knowledge of automated testing and robust test frameworks.
  • \n
  • Experience working with or embedding AI/ML capabilities into software products or platforms.
  • \n
  • Strong understanding of software architecture, scalability, reliability and performance.
  • \n
  • Comfortable working in complex, fast-paced technology environments.
  • \n
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
