CNC Turner Setter Programmer
\nSalary – up to £46K plus bonus, overtime and pension, plus many other benefits.
\nLocation – West Byfleet.
\nOur client is a successful global engineering manufacturing company.
\nThey are seeking a skilled CNC Turner to join their manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for programming, setting, and operating CNC lathes to produce precision components to tight tolerances, often working with exotic and high-performance materials. This role requires a strong focus on quality, accuracy, and efficiency in a high-spec engineering environment. This role reports to the Machine Shop Manager.
\nWorkshop-based precision machining environment. PPE is required at all times. Overtime and shift work may be required depending on workload.
\n\nSkills & Experience required for the role of CNC Turner Setter Programmer:
\nProven experience as a CNC Turner.
\nExperience machining exotic materials and difficult alloys.
\nAbility to machine complex components to tight tolerances.
\nCNC programming experience.
\nAbility to read engineering drawings and GD&T.
\nUnderstanding of tooling and machining strategies.
\nExperience with inspection and quality processes.
\nStrong attention to detail.
\nDesirable Qualifications:
\nEngineering apprenticeship or equivalent.
\nExperience in aerospace, oil & gas or defence sectors.
\nFamiliarity with CAD/CAM software.
\nKnowledge of lean manufacturing.
\nProblem-solving skills.
\nSelf-motivated.
\nReliable and strong work ethic.
\nCommitment to continuous improvement.
\n\nJob role responsibilities re CNC Turner Setter /Programmer:
\nSet, program and operate CNC turning machines.
\nManufacture components to tight tolerances (typically within microns).
\nWork with exotic materials such as Inconel, Titanium, Hastelloy, Duplex and other alloys.
\nInterpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
\nSelect appropriate cutting tools, speeds and feeds.
\nConduct in-process inspection using precision measuring equipment.
\nEnsure all parts meet quality standards.
\nTroubleshoot Machining issues and make adjustments.
\nFollow safety procedures.
