\nWe are seeking a diligent Part-time Lettings Compliance Officer to ensure our rental properties meet all legal and quality standards.
\n\nWe are seeking an experienced and proactive Lettings Compliance Officer to ensure our residential lettings business remains fully compliant with all current and forthcoming legislation.
\n\nThis is an excellent opportunity for an experienced compliance professional with a strong understanding of UK residential lettings law, regulatory requirements and the forthcoming Renters’ Rights reforms.
\n\nThis role involves monitoring compliance, conducting inspections, and maintaining high-quality assurance standards across our lettings portfolio. The ideal candidate will be organised, detail-oriented, and committed to upholding the integrity of our lettings process while supporting our team in delivering excellent service to tenants and landlords alike.
\n\nKey Responsibilities
\n\nEnsure the agency remains fully compliant with all residential lettings legislation.
\nMonitor and implement changes arising from the Renters’ Rights reforms and other legislative updates.
\nAdvise the business on the abolition of Section 21, possession procedures, serving statutory notices and lawful eviction processes.
\nEnsure tenancy agreements, prescribed information, notices and legal documentation comply with current legislation.
\nOversee compliance relating to tenancy deposits, Right to Rent, Gas Safety Certificates, EICRs, EPCs, smoke and carbon monoxide alarms, licensing and all statutory requirements.
\nCarry out regular compliance audits and identify any areas of risk.
\nDevelop and update internal compliance policies and procedures.
\nProvide guidance and training to the lettings and property management teams.
\nLiaise with landlords, legal advisers, local authorities and external regulatory bodies where required.
\nHelp protect the business by ensuring robust compliance processes are maintained.
\nEssential Requirements
\n\nPrevious experience in a lettings compliance role or a senior residential lettings position with compliance responsibilities.
\nExcellent knowledge of UK residential lettings legislation.
\nStrong understanding of the Renters’ Rights reforms and possession law.
\nExperience with serving statutory notices and understanding lawful eviction procedures.
\nAbility to interpret legislation and provide practical compliance advice.
\nExcellent organisational and communication skills.
\nHigh attention to detail with the ability to work independently.
\nDesirable
\n\nExperience with commercial property and commercial lease compliance.
\nARLA Propertymark qualification or equivalent.
\nExperience dealing with landlord licensing and local authority enforcement.
\nExperience delivering compliance training to staff.
