Quantity Surveyor - HousebuilderLocation - Liverpool / North WestSalary/Package - £45,000 - £70,000 + Excellent Benefits PackageAbout the CompanyOur client is an established and growing housebuilder delivering high-quality new-build residential developments across the North West. The business has built a strong reputation for creating well-designed homes and successful residential communities, with a focus on quality, commercial control, programme, and customer satisfaction.Due to continued growth and an expanding development pipeline, they are now looking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team.The RoleAs Quantity Surveyor, you will take responsibility for the commercial management of residential developments from initial viability and procurement through to completion and final account.Key responsibilities will include:Managing the commercial performance of residential developmentsPreparing and monitoring budgets, cost plans, forecasts, and financial reportsManaging the procurement of subcontractor and supplier packagesNegotiating competitive rates and securing best value across developmentsMonitoring build costs and identifying commercial risks and opportunitiesManaging subcontractor accounts, valuations, payments, and final accountsReviewing project expenditure against budgets and agreed cost plansWorking closely with Construction Managers, Site Managers, Buyers, and other operational teamsSupporting the pre-construction and development teams with cost planning and feasibilityMonitoring project progress and ensuring commercial targets are achievedMaintaining accurate commercial records and reporting to senior managementBuilding strong relationships with subcontractors and key supply chain partnersThe Ideal CandidateThe successful Quantity Surveyor will have:Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within housebuilding or residential constructionStrong understanding of residential development and housebuilding processesExperience managing commercial performance across multiple housing developmentsStrong knowledge of cost control, procurement, forecasting, and subcontract managementExcellent understanding of build costs and residential construction methodologyStrong commercial awareness and negotiation skillsExcellent numerical and analytical abilitiesGood communication and stakeholder management skillsStrong Microsoft Excel and IT skillsRelevant Quantity Surveying or construction qualification would be advantageousAbility to manage multiple developments and competing deadlinesWhat's on Offer£45,000 - £70,000 salaryExcellent benefits packageOpportunity to join a growing and established housebuilderExposure to a strong pipeline of residential developmentsGenuine commercial responsibility across multiple schemesLong-term career progressionSupportive and collaborative working environmentOpportunity to work closely with senior management and the wider development teamApply: If you're interested in this opportunity, then please get in touch today with our Commercial Specialist, Mark Harris.Building Careers UK specialises in Construction and Property recruitment and serves as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and an employment business for the supply of temporary workers.We welcome applications from individuals of all backgrounds, experiences, and identities.
