Ready to step into a high-impact leadership assignment where you can shape services that genuinely improve outcomes for children and young people?\nAs the Interim Head of Service – Corporate Parenting, you will provide strategic and operational leadership across a broad portfolio, driving performance, service improvement and positive change. Reporting into senior leadership, this is an opportunity to influence practice, lead experienced teams and champion excellent outcomes for children in care and care experienced young people.
\nYou will play a pivotal role in ensuring services are high performing, inspection ready and focused on delivering stability, permanence and strong transitions into adulthood. With immediate interviews being arranged, this is an excellent opportunity for an experienced senior leader seeking their next challenge.
\nYour Role as Interim Head of Service – Corporate Parenting:
\n- \n
- Lead and develop Corporate Parenting Services, including Children in Care, Care Leavers, Permanence and Fostering \n
- Drive service improvement, performance management and statutory compliance across operational services \n
- Provide strategic oversight of care planning, permanence planning and placement sufficiency \n
- Champion relationship-based and restorative practice to improve outcomes for children and young people \n
- Build strong partnerships across key agencies whilst leading on quality assurance, audit and inspection readiness \n
Your Previous Experience as Interim Head of Service – Corporate Parenting:

- Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration \n
- Significant senior leadership experience within Children’s Social Care services \n
- Strong background across Children in Care, Leaving Care, Fostering, Kinship Care or Permanence services \n
- Proven track record delivering service improvement, workforce development and performance management \n
- Extensive knowledge of legislation, policy and statutory guidance relating to children in care and care experienced young people \n
This assignment requires a visible and credible leader who can manage operational pressures whilst maintaining a clear focus on quality, performance and improving outcomes. You will be confident influencing stakeholders, supporting teams through change and delivering sustainable improvements across services.
