Job Description

Mechanical TechnicianOur client, a leading independent Oil & Gas Operator, are currently seeking a Mechanical Technician top join their team in Wytch Farm, Dorset.The successful candidate shall work as part of a team to manage the maintenance and operational monitoring of mechanical equipment to ensure safe, environmentally sound, reliable, and efficient operation of the Wytch Farm production facility.This position operates on a rotational pattern of 4 X 10.5 hr shifts 06:45/17:15. (Starting alternately on a Monday then Tuesday).Key Requirements Include:Qualifications:A recognised apprenticeship in relevant Engineering disciplineHNC (or equivalent) in Engineering Discipline (preferred)Full UK Driving LicenceExperience:A sound knowledge of machinery and mechanical equipmentExperience in the Oil & Gas/Petrochemical or related industryBroad experience of maintenance and fault finding on mechanical equipmentPersonal Attributes:Ability to work unsupervised in a multidiscipline team environmentAbility to communicate and work well with othersComputer literateDemonstrate understanding of maintenance programmesDemonstrate aptitude for troubleshooting and problem solvingKey Responsibilities Include:Plan and execute scheduled preventive and breakdown maintenance activities on the following:Machinery (including pumps, compressors, combustion engines, fin fans, gearboxes) and associated auxiliary equipment and systems (including fuel, air and water utilities, sealing and lubrication systems etc.)Hydraulic and pneumatic systems.Piping systems, including PSVs, valves, filters, and associated equipmentCarry out all activities to company standards and proceduresRaise relevant permits within the agreed time periodReport relevant maintenance data for reliability analysisParticipate in failure investigations and identify reliability issuesGenerate new work requests to highlight plant and equipment faultsDevelop and review operational and maintenance proceduresProvide input and assistance for new projects including commissioning workWork with vendors and sub-contractors as requiredPromote high HSE standards and demonstrate responsibility for the safety of self and others minimising impact on production, and maximising plant availabilityEmploy Observation Safety Techniques (OST) to report safe and unsafe actsActively participate in a responsible waste management systemAttend and participate in the Operations morning shift meetingComply with requirements of MOC for Plant ModificationsApply skills and knowledge in a practical and efficient manner and continually look for opportunities for improvement, cost saving and simplificationFor further details, please forward a copy of your CV today!!Todd Hayes Ltd is an equal opportunities employer.
