What you will be doing

As a qualified RMN/RNLD you will provide a high profile, visible clinical leadership to the hospital wide nursing team. You will promote and safeguard the well-being and interests of all service users, employees and visitors. You will ensure that standards of patient care are maintained at all times within the parameters of operational policies and governing legislation.

Other responsibilities:

• To actively promote multi­disciplinary working.
\n
• Participate in the Senior Nurse on call arrangement
\n
• Provide the Director of Nurses with relevant, accurate and timely information required for effective decision making
\n
• Leadership of Nursing Services ensuring highest possible professional standards
\n
• Management of resources within budget allocation
\n
• Supervision of senior nurses
\n
• Direct involvement in the pre­admission assessment process
\n
• Direct customer and contract liaison in conjunction with the unit manager
\n
• Deputising for the Unit Manager
\n
• To comply with individual responsibilities of relevant legislation
\n

Things that you will have:

• RMN or RNMH
\n
• Post Graduate qualification at degree level relevant to healthcare
\n
• Management qualification (DMS or equivalent preferred)
\n
• Registered Nurse RMN/RMNH
\n
• 7 years post qualification experience
\n
• Budgetary and financial management
\n
• Project management
\n
• 2 years operational
\n
• Management at senior level
\n

Where you will be working

Location: Thornford Park, Crookham Hill, Thatcham, Berkshire, RG19 8ET.

\n You will be working at Thornford Park, a 141 bedded independent hospital which supports service users that require medium and low secure Forensic Mental Health Services. In addition to these services there is also a PICU Mental Health Service.

The service provides a seamless internal care pathway supporting and empowering people in their recovery and rehabilitation.
\n Working alongside the multidisciplinary team, you will provide personalised assessment and treatment programmes for males with mental illness/complex care needs as well as those with personality disorder, and females and males in a PICU service.
