They are looking for a practical, reliable and hands-on individual to join their team in a varied role covering general maintenance, installation, joinery and site improvements.This is an ideal opportunity for someone with a handyman, maintenance or practical trades background who enjoys working on a variety of tasks and takes pride in finding practical solutions to problems.Role:Carrying out general maintenance and repair work across the siteUndertaking practical handyman duties and general building maintenanceCarrying out basic joinery work and repairsBuilding and assembling desks, furniture, fixtures and equipmentInstalling and mounting equipment, fixtures and fittings, including TVs and other workplace equipmentRunning, routing and securing cabling around the site as requiredUsing hand and power tools safely and effectivelyAssisting with modifications, repairs and improvements to buildings and facilitiesSupporting general site maintenance and improvement projectsResponding to general maintenance issues and carrying out repairs as requiredAssisting with recycling and waste management activities where requiredOperating a forklift truck where authorisedMaintaining high standards of housekeeping and ensuring work areas are clean, safe and organisedWorking in accordance with company Health & Safety proceduresWorking closely with colleagues across the business and supporting other Facilities activities as requiredThis is a permanent, full-time position offering a varied, hands-on role with the opportunity to become an important part of the ongoing maintenance and improvement of the site.Hours:Monday to Thursday 6:30am to 3:30pmFriday 6:30am to 12:30pmPay:£29,640 per annumSkills:Previous experience in a maintenance, handyman, facilities or similar practical roleStrong practical skills and a hands-on approach to problem solvingGood general joinery and DIY skillsConfident using a range of hand and power toolsExperience building, assembling or installing fixtures, furniture or equipmentComfortable carrying out general repairs and maintenanceAble to run and secure cabling neatly and safelyGood understanding of Health & Safety requirementsAbility to work independently and use initiativeGood attention to detail and pride in completing work to a high standardReliable, flexible and willing to undertake a variety of tasksGood communication skills and the ability to work as part of a teamValid FLT licenceDesirable:Previous experience within a manufacturing or industrial environmentBasic MIG welding and fabrication experienceExperience with building or facilities maintenanceAdditional joinery, fabrication or mechanical skillsExperience carrying out site improvement or installation projectsWorking Conditions:Hands-on role based within a manufacturing facility in Motherwell. The role will involve a wide variety of practical tasks, including general maintenance, joinery, installation, cabling and site improvements.The successful candidate will need to be practical, reliable and adaptable, with the ability to look at a problem and work out a sensible solution.
