\nOur client, a leading manufacturer operating within the medium to heavy engineering sector, is seeking a skilled Production Engineer to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in improving manufacturing processes, supporting production operations, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
\nProduction Engineer Role:
\nReporting to the Production Engineering Manager, you will provide technical support across all areas of production, ensuring manufacturing processes are efficient, cost-effective, and delivered to the highest quality standards.
\nProduction Engineer Key Responsibilities:

- Create and maintain manufacturing process specifications \n
- Develop and manage routings, BOMs, production orders, and costings \n
- Support manufacturing operations with technical expertise and problem-solving \n
- Optimise production processes to improve efficiency, capability, and yield \n
- Utilise CAD software, including SolidWorks, for engineering and manufacturing support \n
- Work closely with Purchasing, Engineering, Production, and other stakeholders \n
- Support continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, and waste reduction initiatives \n
- Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures at all times \n
Production Engineer – What We Want:
\nWe are looking for a motivated and experienced Production Engineer who can work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.
\nEssential Production Engineer Skills & Experience
\n- \n
- Minimum 5 years' experience within a Production Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering role \n
- Experience within a medium to heavy engineering environment \n
- Strong understanding of CNC machining processes, including: \n
- 4 and 5-axis machining \n
- CNC lathes \n
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings \n
- SolidWorks 3D CAD experience \n
- Experience creating BOMs, routings, and manufacturing documentation \n
- Knowledge of ERP systems, ideally SAP \n
- Strong project management and problem-solving skills \n
- Excellent communication and organisational abilities \n

Desirable Production Engineer experience
\n- \n
- Knowledge of hard surface welding methods \n
- Experience preparing manufacturing costings \n
- Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement experience \n
Production Engineer Qualifications
\n- \n
- Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent machining-based qualification \n
- HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or similar discipline preferred \n
