FJA are recruiting on behalf of a leading infrastructure services provider within the Water and Wastewater sector for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their Capital Delivery team working across major water and wastewater infrastructure projects.This is a Hybrid position working in the South East London area.This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established organisation delivering essential infrastructure services that help safeguard water supplies, improve environmental performance and maintain resilient infrastructure for future generations.The successful candidate will play a key role in the commercial management of multiple capital projects, ensuring robust cost control, contract compliance and financial performance throughout the project lifecycle.Working within the Water and Wastewater Capital Delivery team, you will support the delivery of large-scale capital programmes, collaborating with operational, finance, procurement and project teams to drive commercial excellence and achieve successful project outcomes.Benefits as a Senior Quantity Surveyor:Company Car and Fuel CardContributory Pension SchemePrivate Healthcare (Single Cover) and Health Care Cash PlanSalary Sacrifice EV/Hybrid Car Scheme25 Days Annual Leave plus Bank HolidaysEnhanced Maternity, Paternity and Adoption LeaveOnline GP Service and Employee Assistance ProgrammeLife AssuranceCycle to Work, Salary Finance and Give As You Earn SchemesRetail Discounts Portal (My Rewards)Discretionary Bonus SchemeReward & Recognition SchemeIndustry Recognised Training and Development ProgrammesResponsibilities of the Senior Quantity Surveyor:Produce accurate contract-compliant valuations and applications for paymentMonitor certifications, payments and cash receipts to ensure effective cash flow managementAdminister NEC contracts and manage contractual notices, communications and correspondenceReview valuations and identify contractual non-compliance, disputes and commercial risksSupport and mentor junior commercial team members to maintain high standards of deliveryManage project costs and financial performance, ensuring accurate reporting and forecastingValidate financial data and maintain accurate accruals across allocated projectsSupport margin improvement initiatives through proactive commercial managementAdminister subcontractor accounts, including procurement, payment and performance monitoringWork closely with operational teams and supply chain partners to support successful project deliveryAssist with cost planning, budgeting and change management activitiesContribute to risk and opportunity reviews, identifying actions to maximise commercial performanceProduce cash flow forecasts, cost/value reconciliations and revenue projectionsPrepare and present regular Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR) reportsMaintain accurate commercial records, registers and supporting documentationMonitor KPI and SLA performance and provide commercial insight into project trends and performanceEnsure all reporting is accurate, timely and compliant with company procedures and client requirementsRequired Skills and Experience of the SeniorQuantity Surveyor:Experience in a Quantity Surveying role within the construction, utilities or infrastructure sectorStrong knowledge and practical experience of NEC3 and/or NEC4 contractsGood commercial awareness with a strong understanding of cost management principlesStrong numerical, analytical and financial management skillsProficient in Microsoft Excel and commercial management systemsExperience in subcontract administration and supply chain managementAbility to identify, assess and escalate commercial risks and issues effectivelyExcellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlinesStrong communication and stakeholder management skillsAbility to work collaboratively with operational, finance, procurement and project teamsDegree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent relevant experienceFull UK Driving LicenceDesirable Experience:Experience working within the water, wastewater, utilities or infrastructure sectorsProfessional membership of RICS, CICES or working towards chartered statusExperience supporting large-scale capital project delivery programmesKnowledge of commercial reporting, CVR processes and forecasting methodologiesUnderstanding of risk and opportunity management within NEC contract environmentsExperience working within highly regulated industriesIf you're ready for your next career move and would like to work for a company that invests in its people, encourages innovation and offers excellent development opportunities, we'd love to hear from you.
