- To manage design consultant activities and deliverables to ensure they are completed in line with the agreed programme and Client requirements. This may include more than one consultant. \n
- To be the technical lead for the permanent works design on the project unless an Design Manager is present. \n
- Ensure both input and output deliverables for the design are tracked and reported to the Project/Engineering Manager as required. \n
- Manage the Technical Queries process. Assigning actions and follow up on responses. \n
- Manage and communicate all design queries, comments and information required from Design workshops and meetings and keep records. \n
- Raise requests for further information internally and externally from the whole project team. \n
- Support the Design manager to ensure all design deliverables are timeously provided as per the of design programmes. \n
- Review Designers Monthly reports and produce monthly reports on design progress and any other design specific elements. \n
- Manage and update the design deliverable schedule. \n
- Review all design deliverables and ensure that they are completed to the expected standard. Challenge and resolve when not, including reviewing of all drawing in line with the Clients Scope/requirements. \n
- Attend interface meeting with external parties, keeping record of meeting and assign/follow up on actions related to the Design. \n
- Arrange internal design interface meetings with construction department \n
- Ensure compliance with design management processes required by the contract. \n
- Collaborate with the engagement of external suppliers/subcontractors. \n
- Manage provision of drawings to project team – document control. \n
- Manage the BIM requirements for permanent and temporary works together with the BIM/CAD Technician. \n
- Assist the design lead for temporary works design packages for the project and ensure the Temporary Works Process is implement and followed at all times. \n
- Any other duties consistent with your status and seniority, as necessary to meet the needs of the Business of the Company. \n
- Liaise with Designer or representative as required under the contract. \n
- Work with Technical Services Department to ensure that Themis holds best practice in relation to design management. \n
- Promote the business to all clients, designers and other external organisations. \n
- Maintain contacts with Consultants, Clients, and other bodies as appropriate to represent the business demonstrating the ability to provide best value. \n
- Assist with the recruitment of engineers, technician, at all levels, for their sector, including interviewing and identifying potential recruits from competitor companies. \n
- Assist with the training and development of engineers’ in the sector at all levels including the attainment of professional qualifications. \n
- Build the profile of the business in schools, universities, consultants and other external organisations. \n
Skills and Qualifications:

- Wide-ranging understanding and working knowledge of construction methods and outputs and can coach others. \n
- Will have both substantial construction and design experience. \n
- Understands the Principal Designer Duties. \n
- Exceptions know how in implementing and promote Digital Engineering practises in Design as well as construction. \n
