About the Role\n

We are looking for an experienced CNC Miller – Nights to join our manufacturing team in Basildon. This is an excellent opportunity for a fully skilled, time-served CNC Setter/Operator with strong milling experience to work in a precision engineering environment.

You will be responsible for setting and operating CNC milling machines to produce high-quality precision components from engineering drawings, working to tight tolerances and maintaining consistently high standards of quality, safety and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities\n
    \n
  • Set and operate CNC milling machines, including 3 and 5-axis machines.
  • \n
  • Produce precision components accurately and efficiently from engineering drawings.
  • \n
  • Work to tight tolerances and inspect your own work to ensure it meets required standards.
  • \n
  • Carry out quality checks on completed components.
  • \n
  • Interpret engineering drawings and follow written manufacturing instructions.
  • \n
  • Use a wide range of precision measuring equipment.
  • \n
  • Work independently and use your initiative to resolve manufacturing issues.
  • \n
  • Maintain a high level of concentration and attention to detail throughout the manufacturing process.
  • \n
  • Clean and maintain CNC machines, associated equipment and the working area.
  • \n
  • Follow all company health, safety, quality and environmental procedures.
  • \n
  • Work in accordance with ISO 50001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and ISO 9001 standards.
  • \n
  • Contribute to continual improvement across manufacturing, quality, health & safety, environmental, energy and sustainability performance.
  • \n
  • Support the Energy team by identifying opportunities to reduce energy consumption and improve efficiency within your area of responsibility.
  • \n
  • Work effectively both independently and as part of a wider manufacturing team.
  • \n
About You\n

You will be a fully skilled, time-served CNC Setter/Operator with the relevant qualifications/certificates and proven experience in CNC milling.

You will ideally have:

  • Proven experience setting and operating CNC milling machines.
  • \n
  • Experience working with 3-axis and 5-axis milling.
  • \n
  • The ability to accurately interpret engineering drawings.
  • \n
  • Experience within an aerospace manufacturing environment.
  • \n
  • Strong knowledge of precision measurement equipment.
  • \n
  • Good computer literacy.
  • \n
  • Excellent attention to detail and a strong focus on quality.
  • \n
  • Good practical and problem-solving skills.
  • \n
  • The ability to follow written instructions and established procedures.
  • \n
  • The ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team.
  • \n
  • A strong commitment to working safely.
  • \n
  • Excellent hand-to-eye coordination.
  • \n
  • Normal colour vision.
  • \n
