Engineering Manager£80,000 – £90,000 Car Allowance / Electric Car Scheme Luton FMCG / Manufacturing Monday–Friday On-Site Engineering Manager – Lead, Develop & TransformAre you an experienced Engineering Manager, Maintenance Manager, Chief Engineer or Head of Engineering looking for a role where you can make a genuine impact? We're working with a high-performing, international FMCG manufacturing business that is looking for an Engineering Manager to take ownership of the engineering and maintenance function at their Bedford site. Key Responsibilities Lead, coach and develop a high-performing engineering team, creating a culture of accountability, engagement and continuous improvement Champion Health & Safety, driving a proactive safety culture with a focus on zero accidents Develop and implement a robust planned and preventative maintenance strategy Improve plant reliability, equipment availability and reduce unplanned downtime Drive Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing initiatives across the site Develop and manage engineering KPIs, using data to improve reliability, efficiency and operational performance Take ownership of engineering and maintenance activities across plant, equipment and facilities Lead engineering and CAPEX projects from planning through to successful implementation Manage engineering budgets, expenditure and engineering stores Ensure compliance with relevant legal, customer, quality and engineering standards Work closely with Production and Operations to maximise plant availability and support production targets Build strong relationships across the wider business and influence at senior-management level Develop engineering capability through training, coaching, succession planning and effective performance managementAbout YouWe're looking for an established engineering leader who combines strong technical knowledge with a genuine passion for people, reliability and operational improvement. You'll ideally have: HND or degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical, Electrical or a related discipline Proven experience leading an engineering or maintenance function within a manufacturing environment Strong maintenance, reliability and engineering best-practice experience Experience managing, coaching and developing engineering teams Proven experience delivering CAPEX and engineering projects Experience managing engineering budgets and expenditure Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing / Continuous Improvement Experience using CMMS or maintenance management systems Strong understanding of Health & Safety, compliance and engineering standards Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills Experience using KPIs and data to drive engineering and operational performance A visible, hands-on leadership style with the ability to motivate and develop peopleWhy Join?This is a genuine opportunity to join an established international manufacturing business at an important stage of its growth and development.
