Job Title: Light Vehicle Technician

Location: Peterborough

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday 08:30-17:00

Salary: £32,000-£42,000 depending on experience, plus company Bonus Scheme

The Role\n

Reporting directly to the Service Manager, you will take ownership of your workload and be confident working independently on a wide range of customer vehicles and trailers. Previous diagnostic and fault-finding experience would be highly advantageous.

Key Responsibilities\n
    \n
  • Carrying out servicing, maintenance and repairs to HGVs, light vehicles and trailers
  • \n
  • Diagnosing and rectifying mechanical and electrical faults
  • \n
  • MOT preparation work
  • \n
  • Attending roadside breakdowns and disabled vehicles when required
  • \n
  • Liaising with the parts department to source required components
  • \n
  • Completing job cards and service documentation accurately and on time
  • \n
  • Maintaining workshop cleanliness and safe working practices
  • \n
  • Following all customer site procedures and health & safety regulations
  • \n
  • Keeping up to date with product knowledge and attending training courses
  • \n
The Ideal Candidate\n
    \n
  • NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds qualified Technician or equivalent industry experience
  • \n
  • Recent experience within the motor trade in a similar role (within the last 2 years)
  • \n
  • Strong diagnostic and repair skills
  • \n
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • \n
  • HGV Licence beneficial but not essential
  • \n
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • \n
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • \n
  • Flexible and proactive approach to work
  • \n
  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety procedures
  • \n
  • Own tools are essential
  • \n
