Are you an experienced HR professional looking for a short-term opportunity where you can make an immediate impact?We are currently recruiting for an HR Officer to join a busy People and Culture team on an initial temporary contract of approximately 8 weeks. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR generalist who can quickly get up to speed and provide a high-quality, responsive HR service.Working as part of a supportive People and Culture function, you will provide professional HR advice and guidance to managers and employees across the organisation, supporting a broad range of operational HR activities.The roleAs HR Officer, you will provide day-to-day HR support across the employee lifecycle, including:Providing practical HR advice and guidance to managers and employees.Supporting employee relations matters, including absence, performance, capability, disciplinary and grievance cases.Coordinating recruitment and selection activity.Supporting probation, appraisal and performance review processes.Maintaining accurate and confidential employee records and HR documentation.Preparing and reviewing HR documentation, including offer letters, contracts and amendments.Maintaining HR trackers, spreadsheets and workforce information.Supporting payroll changes and carrying out appropriate payroll checks.Producing HR reports and helping identify trends and themes from workforce data.Supporting HR projects, policy updates and process improvements.Providing guidance on HR policies, procedures and good people management practice.Supporting employee wellbeing and equality, diversity and inclusion activity.Providing day-to-day guidance to an HR Assistant.This is a varied operational HR role and would suit someone who is comfortable managing competing priorities, dealing with sensitive information and providing confident, professional advice to managers.About youWe are looking for an experienced HR professional with a good understanding of generalist HR practice and employment legislation.You will ideally have:Previous experience working in an operational/generalist HR role.Experience providing HR advice and guidance to managers.Practical experience of employee relations, including absence, performance, disciplinary and grievance matters.A good understanding of employment law, HR policies and best practice.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.Good attention to detail and experience maintaining accurate HR records.Good Microsoft Office skills, particularly Word and Excel.A CIPD Level 5 qualification, or equivalent HR knowledge and experience.Experience within the charity, public or independent sector would be advantageous but is not essential.What is on offer£16.63 per hour37 hours per weekApproximately 8-week temporary assignmentHybrid working 3 days office / 2 days from homeThe opportunity to work within a purpose-led organisationA varied HR role with the opportunity to make an immediate contributionNRG is an equal opportunities employer committed to promoting a diverse and inclusive workplace.
