Skilled CNC Engineer
\nSalary: Circa £35,000Location: SouthendHours: Monday to Thursday, 06:45 - 16:30 (37-hour week)
\nAre you an experienced CNC Engineer looking to develop your skills further? We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled and adaptable CNC Engineer to join a busy precision engineering environment supporting the aerospace sector.
\nThis role is ideal for a candidate who has experience setting and operating CNC machinery and is eager to expand their capabilities by learning centreless grinding as part of their day-to-day responsibilities.
\nThe Role
\nReporting to the Production Manager, you will be responsible for setting and running a variety of CNC and secondary operation machine tools while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and productivity.
\nKey Responsibilities

- Set and operate CNC machines, lathes, and manual machines. \n
- Learn and develop centreless grinding skills as part of the role. \n
- Safely operate secondary operation machinery including thread rollers, part markers, drill banks, depitching presses, torque testers, and deburring equipment. \n
- Carry out first-off inspections, buddy checks, and in-process quality inspections. \n
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications. \n
- Accurately measure components using micrometres and other inspection equipment, working to tight tolerances. \n
- Manufacture components in line with quality standards and aerospace industry requirements. \n
- Complete daily maintenance checks and production documentation. \n
- Identify opportunities to reduce scrap, minimise rework, and improve productivity. \n
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organised work environment. \n
- Support on-time delivery targets and contribute to key production performance measures. \n
About You
\n- \n
- Previous CNC machining experience within a precision engineering environment. \n
- Aerospace manufacturing experience is highly desirable. \n
- Strong understanding of aerospace quality standards. \n
- Experience working with materials including aluminium, stainless steel, and Inconel. \n
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings. \n
- Confident using micrometres and measuring equipment to tight tolerances. \n
- Grinding experience would be advantageous but is not essential. \n
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. \n
- Positive team player with excellent communication skills. \n
- Proactive approach to continuous improvement and efficiency. \n
