Purchase Ledger SupervisorDerby BasedSalary up to £35,000Full-time (37.5 hours) onsite roleAre you an experienced Purchase Ledger professional ready to take the next step in your career?We are looking for a Purchase Ledger Supervisor to join a busy finance team based in Derby. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced purchase ledger specialist who enjoys taking ownership, improving processes and supporting a small team.As Purchase Ledger Supervisor, you will oversee the day-to-day operation of the purchase ledger function, ensuring invoices are processed accurately and efficiently while maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders. You will play a key role in supporting the wider finance team, ensuring controls and processes are followed and helping to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.Key Responsibilities: Supervise and support the day-to-day purchase ledger functionLead, motivate and develop members of the purchase ledger teamEnsure invoices are accurately processed and authorised in a timely mannerManage supplier statement reconciliations and resolve discrepanciesOversee payment runs and ensure suppliers are paid accurately and on timeDeal with supplier queries and maintain strong working relationshipsMonitor outstanding invoices and ensure aged items are appropriately investigatedAssist with month-end close and purchase ledger reportingEnsure purchase ledger processes and controls are consistently followedIdentify and implement improvements to finance processes and proceduresWork closely with other departments to resolve invoice and payment queriesAbout You: We are looking for someone with solid purchase ledger experience who is now ready to take on a supervisory position, or an experienced Purchase Ledger Supervisor looking for their next challenge.You will ideally have:Strong purchase ledger/accounts payable experiencePrevious supervisory or team leadership experience, or the desire and capability to step into a leadership roleExcellent attention to detail and a methodical approachStrong communication and organisational skillsExperience with supplier reconciliations and payment runsStrong Excel skills and confidence working with finance systemsThe ability to manage workloads and meet deadlinesA proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvementIf you are an experienced Purchase Ledger professional looking for a role where you can take ownership and lead a small team, we'd love to discuss this with your further.
