CNC ProgrammerLocation: BournemouthSalary: £43,000 + bensJob Type: PermanentCNC ProgrammerWe are currently recruiting for an experienced CNC programmer to join a growing machine shop facility in Bournemouth. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled CNC machinist with experience in CNC programming, to join a progressive engineering environment.The successful CNC Programmer will be responsible for programming, setting and operating CNC sliding head machines to manufacture high-quality, close-tolerance components safely and efficiently.Experience working with Citizen or Tornos sliding head lathes would be highly advantageous, although this is not essential as full training can be provided to the right candidate.Key Responsibilities for the CNC Programmer opportunity in BournemouthProgram sliding head CNC lathes using G-code and/or offline CAM softwareSet and prove out CNC sliding head machines, including Citizen and TornosModify and optimise existing CNC programs to improve cycle times, tooling efficiency and machining performanceSelect, prepare and set cutting tools, guide bushes and workholdingOperate CNC machinery to manufacture components in line with engineering drawings and specificationsMonitor machine performance and make adjustments to offsets where requiredIdentify and resolve machining issues to maintain production efficiency and component qualityInspect finished components using micrometers, verniers, gauges and other precision measuring equipmentEnsure all components meet required dimensional tolerances, quality standards and surface finish requirementsMaintain high standards of health and safety throughout the machining processReport any health, safety, quality or production concerns promptlyEnsure compliance with relevant company procedures, policies and regulationsAbout YouThe ideal candidate will have previous experience as a CNC Programmer, within a precision engineering or manufacturing environment.You should have:Proven experience programming, setting and operating CNC machineryExperience with sliding head CNC lathes is desirableKnowledge of G-code and/or CAM programmingExperience with Citizen or Tornos machines would be advantageousAbility to read and interpret engineering drawingsExperience using precision measuring equipmentStrong understanding of machining tolerances, tooling and offsetsA quality-focused and safety-conscious approachGood problem-solving skills and attention to detailWhy Apply?This is a great opportunity for an experienced CNC Programmerto join a growing machine shop where you can develop your technical skills and work with modern CNC machining technology.Citizen or Tornos experience is beneficial but not essential, making this role suitable for experienced CNC machinists who are looking to develop their sliding head machining experience.Apply Now for the CNC Programmer opportunity in BournemouthIf you are an experienced CNC Programmer, CNC Setter Operator, CNC Machinist or Sliding Head CNC Programmer looking for your next opportunity, we would be keen to hear from you.
