MB989: CAD TechnicianLocation: SwindonSalary: £38,000Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per weekAdditional Company Benefits: Exceptional Career Development Opportunities, Company Car/Car Allowance (Depending on job grade), Pension matched up to 8%, 25 days annual leave – plus holiday (opportunity to buy/sell leave will be implemented from January 2026), Private medical insurance, Free 24/7 EAPOverview:First Military Recruitment is proudly working in partnership with a fantastic national construction business who are looking to recruit a CAD Technician on a permanent basis due to growth based at either their Swindon depot.Duties and Responsibilities:

- Creating files 2D/3D and ensuring the appropriate file attributes are captured correctly \n
- Producing and / or amending information on drawings in accordance with the Project SMP \n
- Visiting Sites \n
- Taking verbal direction and implementing into sketches and calculations to produce the final work \n
- Drawing maps, diagrams or plans for construction projects and structures \n
- Work with architects, engineers, building services and other construction workers in producing plans and drawings. \n
- Supporting and deputising for the BIM Coordinator or BIM Manager, where required and appropriate. \n
- Undertaking appropriate works requested by the BIM Development Manager for the benefit of the wider company. \n
- Any other duties consistent with your status and seniority, as necessary to meet the needs of the Business of the Company. \n
- Understand the health, safety and welfare principles of setting up safe worksites when preparing site layout plans \n
- Consider and comment on health, safety or welfare issues identified within drawing or models they are working on and ensue SHE issues are coordinated across models and drawings \n
- Ensure drawings and models are prepared in accordance with stated QA standards \n
- Ensure quality of data and models are prepared in accordance with the stated standards \n
- Ensure environmental impacts and aspects are adequately considered within the drawings and models produced \n
- Ensure Sustainability issues are stated on the drawings including biodiversity and carbon emissions \n
Skills and Qualifications:
\n- \n
- Knowledge of construction activities and infrastructure projects \n
- Applied knowledge of PAS1192-2:2013 and its processes \n
- Knowledge of infrastructure design processes \n
- Identify, interpret and apply required industry/ client/ internal CAD standard \n
- Project delivery using the core 2D/3D CAD applications of AutoCAD with knowledge of Bentley systems \n
