\nReed Education are working in partnership with a number of primary schools across Plymouth to recruit enthusiastic and experienced SEN Teaching Assistants for September.
\nWhether you're looking for flexible day-to-day work or a long-term role, we have a range of opportunities available supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs across mainstream primary schools.
\nAbout the role
\nAs an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with pupils who require additional support to access learning and thrive within the classroom environment. You may support children with Autism, ADHD, Speech and Language needs, SEMH needs, learning difficulties, or other additional educational needs.
\nWorking alongside teachers and SENCOs, you will help create an inclusive learning environment where every child can develop confidence, independence and achieve their full potential.
\nKey responsibilities

- Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEN. \n
- Assist pupils in accessing learning activities and achieving individual targets. \n
- Support children with communication, social, emotional and behavioural needs. \n
- Use strategies and interventions to encourage positive engagement and participation. \n
- Support classroom routines, transitions and structured learning activities. \n
- Work collaboratively with teachers and other professionals to meet pupils' needs. \n
- Promote independence, confidence and positive relationships. \n
- Foster a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment. \n
The ideal candidate

- Has experience working with children with Special Educational Needs. \n
- Has knowledge of Autism, ADHD, SEMH, Speech and Language needs or other additional needs. \n
- Is patient, resilient and adaptable. \n
- Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills. \n
- Can build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents. \n
- Is confident working both independently and as part of a team. \n
- Has a genuine passion for supporting children and young people. \n

\nHoliday entitlement and pay for those working via Reed Education: The advertised hourly rate of £14.61 includes an additional 12.07% rolled-up holiday pay, which is paid alongside your weekly wages.
\nAs a guide, a candidate working 32.5 hours per week, 5 days per week, across 39 term-time weeks per year would receive the equivalent of approximately £18,525 per annum before deductions for Tax and National Insurance.
