\nWe are looking for a Purchase Ledger Supervisor to join a busy finance team based in Derby. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced purchase ledger specialist who enjoys taking ownership, improving processes and supporting a small team.
As Purchase Ledger Supervisor, you will oversee the day-to-day operation of the purchase ledger function, ensuring invoices are processed accurately and efficiently while maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders. You will play a key role in supporting the wider finance team, ensuring controls and processes are followed and helping to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:\n- \n
- Supervise and support the day-to-day purchase ledger function \n
- Lead, motivate and develop members of the purchase ledger team \n
- Ensure invoices are accurately processed and authorised in a timely manner \n
- Manage supplier statement reconciliations and resolve discrepancies \n
- Oversee payment runs and ensure suppliers are paid accurately and on time \n
- Deal with supplier queries and maintain strong working relationships \n
- Monitor outstanding invoices and ensure aged items are appropriately investigated \n
- Assist with month-end close and purchase ledger reporting \n
- Ensure purchase ledger processes and controls are consistently followed \n
- Identify and implement improvements to finance processes and procedures \n
- Work closely with other departments to resolve invoice and payment queries \n
We are looking for someone with solid purchase ledger experience who is now ready to take on a supervisory position, or an experienced Purchase Ledger Supervisor looking for their next challenge.
\nYou will ideally have:

- Strong purchase ledger/accounts payable experience \n
- Previous supervisory or team leadership experience, or the desire and capability to step into a leadership role \n
- Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach \n
- Strong communication and organisational skills \n
- Experience with supplier reconciliations and payment runs \n
- Strong Excel skills and confidence working with finance systems \n
- The ability to manage workloads and meet deadlines \n
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement \n
