Are you passionate about supporting young people with special educational needs and helping them achieve success both inside and outside the classroom?

We are working with a number of inclusive and supportive secondary schools across Greenwich seeking dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to provide tailored support to students with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, Speech & Language needs, SEMH and moderate learning difficulties.

This is an excellent opportunity for experienced SEN Teaching Assistants, graduates considering careers in education or psychology, and individuals with experience supporting young people through youth work, care or mentoring roles.

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with additional learning needs
\n
• Assist teachers in delivering engaging and accessible lessons
\n
• Support students in accessing the curriculum and achieving their learning goals
\n
• Help implement EHCP targets and personalised support strategies
\n
• Encourage positive behaviour, engagement and participation in lessons
\n
• Support students' social, emotional and personal development
\n
• Promote confidence, independence and resilience
\n
• Work collaboratively with teaching staff, SENCOs and external professionals
\n

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for individuals who:

• Have experience supporting children or young people with SEN in education, care or support settings
\n
• Are patient, adaptable and empathetic
\n
• Possess strong communication and relationship-building skills
\n
• Can build positive and trusting relationships with young people
\n
• Are committed to promoting inclusion and improving student outcomes
\n
• Work effectively as part of a team
\n
• Have a genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs
\n

Previous experience supporting students with Autism, ADHD, SEMH, Speech & Language needs or learning difficulties would be advantageous but is not essential.
