Streetworks Inspector

Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Streetworks Inspector to join their Regeneration, Enterprise and Skills Transportation division on a contract basis. This role involves providing guidance and support in accordance with the New Roads and Street Works Act (NRSWA) and the Traffic Management Act (TMA) legislation. Key Responsibilities: Coordinate street works and provide relevant technical advice on street work licences. Offer EToN support and data plotting. Assist in drafting Temporary Traffic Orders for utility works. Monitor street works compliance with statutory obligations, including Section 81 NRSWA (defective apparatus). Oversee defect inspections and manage associated charges and dispute resolutions. Maintain the Electronic Street Works Register database (Symology) and manage data input and extraction. Produce regular reports related to the NRSWA, including sample, defect, section 74 and lane rental charges. Support financial reconciliation by raising draft invoices and preparing invoice statements for charges incurred by works promoters. Assist in monitoring revenue expenditure and income related to NRSWA and the London Permit Scheme. Job Requirements: Experience in streetworks coordination and compliance with NRSWA legislation. Proficiency in using Symology and understanding of EToN systems. Ability to produce technical and non-technical reports related to streetworks. Strong organisational skills to manage data and maintain accurate records. Excellent communication skills, capable of liaising with internal teams, external parties, and handling enquiries effectively. Understanding of financial tracking and reconciliation processes associated with streetworks. Commitment to promoting equal opportunities, customer care, and environmental policies.
