MAINTENANCE ELECTRICIAN Swindon and surrounding areas Competitive salary, up to £42,000 base salary Full-time - 40 hours, Monday to Friday Permanent JOIN A LEADING FACILITIES MANAGEMENT PROVIDER We are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Electrician to join a well-established Facilities Management provider, covering commercial retail sites across the Swindon area. This is a mobile position offering autonomy to manage your own working day while receiving support from a friendly and collaborative team. The position will involve electrical testing, inspections, fault finding, installations, repairs and compliance work. You will also support wider building maintenance tasks, including basic plumbing, carpentry, painting and minor fabrication. This is a customer-facing role where you will work independently while communicating regularly with planning teams, colleagues, store managers and subcontractors. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive electrical repairs. * Complete electrical fault finding, testing, inspections and installations. * Deliver minor electrical works and compliance-related tasks. * Ensure all work complies with statutory requirements, company procedures and health and safety standards. * Complete general building maintenance, including basic plumbing, carpentry, painting and minor fabrication. * Use a tablet and internal systems to manage, update and close work orders. * Complete administrative duties and maintain accurate maintenance and compliance records. * Work closely with planning teams, colleagues, store managers and subcontractors. * Achieve agreed KPIs while maintaining a high-quality and customer-focused service. * Support operational and commercial requirements, including contributing to quotations when required. * Participate in a structured on-call rota to support out-of-hours service requirements.WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR Proven electrical maintenance and repair experience. * Strong fault-finding, testing and diagnostic ability. * Previous experience within a retail, commercial or multi-site maintenance environment. * Experience completing planned and reactive maintenance. * Wider building-maintenance experience and multi-trade capabilities. * Ability to manage a mobile workload and work independently. * Proactive, adaptable and customer-focused approach. * Clear communication and interpersonal skills. * Ability to plan effectively and respond confidently to changing priorities. * Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification. * NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or an equivalent qualification. * Proven commercial electrical maintenance experience. * Strong electrical fault-finding and repair skills. * Experience completing general building-maintenance tasks.APPLY If you're an experienced Maintenance Electrician looking for a stable, well-supported mobile role with varied commercial work and opportunities to develop your skills, we'd love to hear from you.
