Senior Integration Software Engineer – Contract
\n
Location: Leeds / Wakefield – hybrid, with at least 1 day per week onsite and occasional regional travel\n
Rate: £395 per day – Inside IR35\n
Contract: 1 September 2026 to 16 November 2026\n
Hours: Full-time\n
\n We are looking for a Senior Integration Software Engineer to support a large-scale integration programme, designing and delivering secure, reliable integrations across complex enterprise systems.\n
\n The Role You will work within a multidisciplinary delivery team alongside Architects, Business Analysts, Delivery Managers and technical stakeholders. Responsibilities will include:\n
\n
    \n
  • Developing secure APIs, integration services and reusable integration components
  • \n
  • Building interfaces using FHIR, HL7 v2.x and RESTful APIs
  • \n
  • Integrating with complex enterprise platforms, including EPR and PAS systems
  • \n
  • Supporting integration testing, deployment, go-live and early-life support
  • \n
  • Troubleshooting integration issues across multiple systems
  • \n
  • Developing automated unit, integration and API tests
  • \n
  • Working within Agile delivery and CI/CD environments
  • \n
  • Producing technical, API and interface documentation
  • \n
  • Supporting code reviews and maintaining high software engineering standards
  • \n
Essential Experience \n
    \n
  • Strong enterprise software engineering and systems integration background
  • \n
  • Commercial experience with FHIR
  • \n
  • Commercial experience with HL7 v2.x
  • \n
  • Strong RESTful API and web services development experience
  • \n
  • Experience integrating multiple complex systems
  • \n
  • Cloud-based application development
  • \n
  • Git, CI/CD pipelines and automated testing
  • \n
  • Secure software development practices
  • \n
  • Agile and DevOps delivery experience
  • \n
  • Strong technical troubleshooting skills
  • \n
Experience with integration engines, middleware and event-driven architecture would also be beneficial.\n
\n Candidates must be comfortable attending the Leeds/Wakefield location at least once per week, with some additional regional travel for technical workshops, testing and implementation activities.\n
