MEP Design Manager / Building Services Design Manager

Location: Stradishall, near Newmarket, Suffolk (CB8 9YG)

Rate: £500–£550 per day

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am–5:30pm

Contract: Initial 6 months

We are looking for an MEP Design Manager / Building Services Design Manager to support a major construction project in Suffolk.

You will take responsibility for coordinating the MEP design process, working closely with external consultants to ensure designs, information and deliverables are progressing in line with the project programme.

This could suit an experienced Design Manager or someone from a strong Mechanical or Electrical technical background who has experience coordinating design information and is ready to take on greater responsibility.

• Managing the MEP design process and deliverables from external consultants.
\n
• Reviewing design information and monitoring progress against programme requirements.
\n
• Preparing and maintaining design status reports.
\n
• Coordinating and attending design review meetings.
\n
• Liaising with consultants, project teams and other key stakeholders.
\n
• Identifying outstanding design information and following actions through to completion.
\n
• Maintaining accurate design documentation and project records.
\n

• Mechanical and/or Electrical technical qualification.
\n
• Good understanding of Mechanical, Electrical or Building Services installations.
\n
• Experience coordinating design processes, technical information or consultant deliverables.
\n
• Previous design experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
\n
• Confident managing meetings, actions and design status reporting.
\n
• Strong IT skills; experience with SharePoint and Viewpoint would be advantageous.
\n
• Organised, proactive and comfortable working with external consultants and project teams.
\n

The role is based on a secure site and the successful candidate must be able to obtain the required BPSS/DHR clearance.

Due to the site location, candidates must be able to travel reliably to Stradishall, near Newmarket.
