SEN Learning Support Assistant
\nLocation: MiddlesbroughJob Type: Full-Time, Long-Term Supply (Potential Permanent Opportunity)Start Date: September 2026Salary: £95-£115 p/day
\nVeritas Education are supporting a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Middlesbrough to appoint a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to work within their specialist SEN provision from September.
\nThis is a full-time, long-term opportunity with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate. The successful applicant will support Key Stage 1 pupils with a range of additional needs, helping them access learning, develop communication skills and achieve positive outcomes both academically and socially.
\nThe role will include a mixture of 1:1 support and small group interventions, working closely with teaching staff and SEN professionals to provide tailored support throughout the school day.

- Supporting KS1 pupils within a specialist SEN unit \n
- Delivering both 1:1 and small group support \n
- Encouraging engagement, confidence and independence \n
- Supporting communication, emotional regulation and social development \n
- Creating a safe, positive and nurturing learning environment \n
- Working closely with teachers, SEND professionals and parents \n
Ideal Candidate:
\n- \n
- Experience supporting children with SEN, either in schools, care, youth work or similar settings \n
- Patient, nurturing and adaptable approach \n
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills \n
- Ability to support children with a range of additional learning needs \n
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a wider team \n
- Relevant Teaching Assistant, Supporting Teaching & Learning or childcare qualifications are desirable but not essential \n
