Data Engineer

Role Title: Data Engineer Clearance: SC Eligible (Must be able to pass BPSS)Location: Remote (Telford, London or Manchester - 2 x Monthly)Contract Tenure: 6 MonthsStart Date: 31 August 26 We are seeking Data Engineers to support delivery within a large-scale data exploitation programme. The role will focus on developing and maintaining ETL pipelines within an established Talend framework, alongside working with Oracle RDS databases and CI/CD pipelines.Key responsibilities:

• Design and develop ETL solutions using Talend
\n
• Build and maintain Oracle SQL and DDL artefacts
\n
• Contribute to CI/CD pipeline enhancements (GitLab)
\n
• Investigate and resolve defects across development and testing phases
\n
• Conduct component testing, including test data creation
\n
• Support QA, performance testing, and production releases
\n
• Perform peer reviews of development and test artefacts
\n
• Provide guidance and mentoring to junior team members
\n
• Contribute to agile ceremonies and cross-team coordination
\n

Skills and experience:

\n
• Strong hands-on experience with Talend (essential)
\n
• Experience with Oracle databases (preferably RDS)
\n
• Solid SQL and data modelling capability
\n
• Experience working within structured SDLC and testing frameworks
\n
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g. GitLab)
\n
• Experience in enterprise or public sector environments desirable
\n
