\nA supportive and inclusive Specialist School in Thatcham is seeking a dedicated Autism Support professional to join their team as soon as possible. This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with pupils with autism, helping them access learning, develop communication skills and build confidence.
\nAs part of the Autism Support team, your responsibilities will include:

- Providing dedicated 1:1 and small group support to pupils with ASD. \n
- Supporting communication, interaction and social development. \n
- Helping pupils manage sensory needs and emotional regulation. \n
- Implementing structured routines and individualised strategies. \n
- Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement. \n
- Supporting pupils to access lessons and wider school activities. \n
- Building trusting and positive relationships with pupils. \n
- Working closely with teachers and other support professionals. \n
This Autism Support role would suit someone with experience in education, childcare, care, youth work or support work. Previous experience working with autistic children or young people is highly desirable, although a genuine passion for supporting pupils with additional needs is equally important.
