Trainee Estimator / Estimator – Bedford
\nA leading flooring subcontractor in Bedford has an opportunity for a Trainee Estimator or Estimator to join their commercial team. They are financially strong, expanding, and known for exceptional quality and service. This is a great role for someone who wants to learn, progress and grow in a fast-paced commercial environment.
\nYou will be joining a team of six, consisting of two Business Development Managers and four Estimators. Hybrid working is available after a training period.

\nThey work with Tier 1 and Tier 2 Contractors and have a strong presence across London and the Home Counties. \nProjects typically range between £5,000 and £2,000,000.
\nThe Role – Trainee Estimator / Estimator
\nThis is a full-time, office-based role with regular site visits. You will assist with and develop skills in:

- Reviewing drawings and specifications \n
- Quantity take-offs \n
- Preparing estimates and costings \n
- Pricing bills of quantities and producing lump-sum tenders \n
- Supplier and subcontractor enquiries \n
- Comparing quotations and supporting procurement \n
- Assisting with tender submissions \n
- Supporting contract administration and commercial reporting \n
- Carrying out site surveys 1–2 times per week \n
- Working on projects requiring security clearance \n
You will typically manage 7–8 live tenders at any one time, valued between £50,000 and £1.5m.

The Right Person – Trainee Estimator / Estimator

- 5 GCSEs including a C in Maths \n
- Must be able to drive \n
- Good attention to detail \n
- Able to juggle multiple tenders and deadlines in a high-pressure environment \n
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel \n
- Strong organisational and communication skills \n
- Able to work independently and within a team \n
- Experience in negotiation is beneficial \n
- Comfortable working on security-cleared projects (training provided) \n
Working Hours
\n8.30am – 5.00pm Hybrid working available after a training period.
