Fabric Engineer / Handyperson\n

Location: Newcastle
Rate: £14.00 per hour PAYE
Duration: 2-month temporary contract
Hours: Monday to Friday

We are currently recruiting on behalf of our FM client for a Fabric Engineer / Handyperson to work at a busy leisure centre in Newcastle.

\n

This is a temporary position providing cover for approximately 2 months, with the successful candidate responsible for carrying out a range of planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across the site.

Key Responsibilities\n

  • \n

    Carry out planned and reactive fabric maintenance across the leisure centre

    • \n
  • \n

    Complete general handyman and building maintenance tasks

    • \n
  • \n

    Undertake minor repairs to doors, locks, fixtures, fittings and general building fabric

    • \n
  • \n

    Carry out basic plumbing, carpentry and decorating works where required

    • \n
  • \n

    Respond to reactive maintenance requests and complete works efficiently

    • \n
  • \n

    Complete planned maintenance tasks in line with the site's requirements

    • \n
  • \n

    Identify defects and report any issues requiring further attention

    • \n
  • \n

    Ensure all work is completed safely and to a high standard

    • \n
  • \n

    Maintain accurate records of completed maintenance activities

    • \n
  • \n

    Work professionally around members of the public and site staff

    • \n
The Ideal Candidate\n

The successful candidate will ideally have previous experience working as a Fabric Engineer, Maintenance Operative, Handyperson or Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer.

\n

You should be confident carrying out general building maintenance and minor repairs, with the ability to work independently and manage reactive tasks effectively.

\n

Previous experience within facilities management or commercial maintenance environments would be advantageous.
