About the Role\n

As a Team Leader, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that young people receive a safe, positive, and nurturing living experience. Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading and supporting the Residential Support Worker team to deliver high-quality care
\n
• Working shifts to ensure the home runs safely and smoothly, in line with safeguarding expectations
\n
• Supervising Residential Support Workers, promoting best practices, and acting as a positive role model
\n
• Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of policies, procedures, and legislation
\n
• Building strong, professional relationships with multi-agency partners, families, and the wider community
\n
• Supporting care planning and young people's reviews
\n
• Encouraging young people to participate in decision-making
\n
• Promoting equality and anti-discriminatory practices
\n
• Attending required training and supporting QCF learners
\n

Essential Skills\n

To thrive in this role, you should possess the following:

\n

\n
• A good standard of education and working towards, or holding, a Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People's Workforce or equivalent
\n
• A strong understanding of childcare legislation, Children's Homes Regulations, and Quality Standards
\n
• Experience supporting young people with challenging behaviours
\n
• Confidence in report writing, numeracy, general administration, and IT
\n
• The ability to build positive, empathetic relationships with young people
\n
• A motivational and supportive leadership style, with the ability to supervise and develop staff
\n
• Knowledge of national and local safeguarding procedures and protocols
\n

Working Conditions\n

This is a full-time, permanent position, requiring 38 hours per week. You will be part of a dedicated team committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults.
