Enterprise ArchitectLocation: BirminghamSalary: Up to £80,000Working pattern: Hybrid, 1-2 days per week on siteAbout the RoleEnterprise Architect required to shape enterprise architecture across a complex environment, aligning technology strategy with business priorities and long-term outcomes.This is a hands-on strategic role suited to someone who can balance best practice with practical delivery. You will act as a trusted advisor, supporting technology decision-making, enabling continuous improvement, and helping the organisation progress towards a stable, modern, and scalable architecture.Key ResponsibilitiesAlign enterprise architecture with business strategy, translating goals, priorities, and constraints into clear architecture artefacts and models.Define, maintain, and improve architecture governance processes, principles, standards, and ways of working.Develop and maintain strategic architecture roadmaps in collaboration with senior stakeholders and programme teams.Shape new business and technology initiatives from inception, ensuring alignment with architectural principles and long-term objectives.Provide architectural guidance and oversight to solution teams, including chairing technical design authority forums where required.Oversee programme-level architecture deliverables and ensure solutions meet business needs.Build and manage the architecture knowledge base, including models, standards, tools, and reusable artefacts.Champion modern, scalable technology approaches while balancing quality, efficiency, and practical delivery timelines.Act as a visible advocate for enterprise architecture and continuous improvement across the business and technology landscape.Essential Skills and ExperienceExperience working as an Enterprise Architect.Applied experience across two or more enterprise architecture domains, such as Business, Data, Application, or Technology, with a good understanding of each.Strong understanding of how different business models and processes influence enterprise architecture and how architecture enables business value.Experience developing, applying, and driving value from architecture principles.Proven ability to align business vision and strategy with capability roadmaps.Up-to-date knowledge of systems, integration approaches, existing and emerging industry standards, and the role of enterprise architecture in portfolio management.Strong influencing, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to drive change with senior stakeholders.Ability to communicate complex technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.Strategic, holistic approach to business and technology.Ability to plan complex work over extended timeframes while managing shifting priorities effectively.Confident decision-maker with strong problem-solving skills and a high level of accountability.Enterprise Architecture certification such as TOGAF or equivalent.Leadership experience, with the ability to engage, motivate, and influence people at all levels.Interested?!
