This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside experienced engineers and project teams, transforming concepts into high-quality technical drawings and models that contribute to the successful delivery of complex projects.About the RoleAs a CAD Technician, you will produce detailed drawings and models to support our design engineers and site operations teams. Working across a variety of projects, you'll ensure all outputs are accurate, compliant and delivered to the highest standards.You'll collaborate closely with engineers, project teams and site personnel, providing technical support while contributing to the continuous improvement of our engineering capability.Key ResponsibilitiesProduce accurate, detailed technical drawings and models from information supplied by design engineers and operational teams.Prepare As-Built drawings using site records and marked-up drawings.Utilise CAD software including AutoCAD LT, AutoTrack and SketchUp to create high-quality deliverables.Ensure all drawings comply with VolkerStevin Engineering CAD standards and quality requirements.Support design engineers and project teams by providing technical drafting expertise.Carry out informal drawing reviews to promote quality, consistency and best practice.Identify opportunities for improvement and contribute to departmental development goals.Assist with the identification and closure of design-related non-conformances.Proactively manage workload, monitor progress against agreed deadlines and communicate potential risks.Participate in resource planning and departmental meetings.Build strong relationships with colleagues, project teams and key stakeholders.Attend site visits and project meetings to gain a thorough understanding of project requirements.About YouWe're looking for a proactive and detail-focused individual who enjoys working within a collaborative engineering environment.You will ideally have:Experience producing CAD drawings and models within a civil engineering, construction or infrastructure environment.Demonstrable experience independently producing timber structure, steelwork and reinforced concrete detailing .Strong proficiency in AutoCAD LT .Experience of 3D modelling using AutoCAD, Civil 3D or similar software would be advantageous.A basic understanding of structural stability and engineering design principles .Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality.Strong organisational and time management skills.Effective communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.A positive, team-focused approach and a willingness to share knowledge with others.If you're looking to make an impact and see your designs come to life on major infrastructure projects, we'd love to hear from you.About youRelevant CAD software experienceEngTech or working towards EngTech status with the ICEConstruction industry experience preferredHighly IT literate including use of CAD software-(AutoCAD, AutoCAD LT, Autotrack and SketchUp),Microsoft Office, MS Teams and CDEKnowledge and experience of technical standardsrelating to draughtingBasic knowledge of civil engineering constructiontechniquesIf your past experience doesn't match perfectly with every requirement of the job description, we still encourage you to apply.
