Site Safety Supervisor

Location: Saltley, Birmingham, B8 1AURate: £26.17 PAYEHours: 07:30 - 18:00Duration: End of December

We're looking for an experienced Site Safety Supervisor to support safe and compliant operations on HS2 at the Saltley Site Compound. This is an all-round supervisory role, focused on leading safe working practices, coordinating teams, overseeing inspections, and ensuring all activities follow HS2 procedures and safe systems of work.

Key Duties

• Lead daily site safety oversight across all active work fronts
\n
• Conduct and supervise site inspections, reporting issues and coordinating follow-up actions
\n
• Oversee safe delivery of routine checks, small tasks, and operational activities
\n
• Monitor and support fencing, gates, barriers, signage, and access route safety
\n
• Deliver daily briefings, task allocations, and point-of-work safety checks
\n
• Ensure teams follow HS2 safety procedures, permits, and safe systems of work
\n
• Maintain communication with engineers, supervisors, and site management
\n
• Provide cover across multiple areas when team members are absent
\n
• Support incident reporting, near-miss capture, and corrective actions
\n

Required Skills & Experience

\n
• Strong background in supervision, inspections, operational safety, or similar roles
\n
• Experience leading teams and promoting safe working practices
\n
• Solid understanding of site safety protocols, permits, and compliance
\n
• Valid Gold or Black CSCS
\n
