AR807 – IT Support & Systems TechnicianLocation: LeominsterSalary: £26,500Overview: First Military Recruitment is seeking an IT Support & Systems Technician on behalf of one of our clients.The successful candidate will provide day-to-day IT support across the business while maintaining and improving key systems, including the access platform and production-related IT infrastructure.Our client strongly encourages applications from ex-military personnel but all applications will be considered.Duties and Responsibilities:

- Provide day-to-day IT support across the company, ensuring smooth operation for all staff. \n
- Set up, configure, and maintain computers, devices, and production-related IT equipment. \n
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues efficiently. \n
- Maintain a strong understanding of the Access platform and provide training to all departments, including senior management. \n
- Hold regular meetings with management teams to advise on best practices and future process improvements. \n
- Continuously optimise ERP workflows and update system data. \n
- Resolve issues relating to works orders, sales orders, and purchase orders. \n
- Update and maintain accurate Bills of Materials and support improvements to product data integrity. \n
- Analyse factory workflows and collaborate with teams to implement process improvements. \n
- Develop custom tools and scripts to automate tasks, enhance MRP functionality, and improve overall efficiency. \n
- Manage and work with backend SQL databases, including creating queries for dashboards and internal reporting. \n
- Liaise with external support partners to ensure timely resolution of technical issues. \n
- Meet with external software providers to assess potential systems, discuss technical requirements, and evaluate installation feasibility. \n
- Provide general IT support, including troubleshooting technical issues and assisting with network and connectivity problems. \n
- Set up and maintain IT equipment and manage user accounts and system access. \n
- Install and update software where required. \n
- Keep basic IT records and asset lists up to date. \n
Skills and Qualifications:

- Experience providing hands-on IT support in a business environment. \n
- Strong understanding of hardware, networking, and software troubleshooting. \n
- Experience with ERP systems, ideally Access. \n
- Ability to analyse and improve workflows and processes. \n
- Experience working with SQL databases. \n
- Ability to develop basic scripts or tools to automate tasks (any language). \n
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to train and support staff at all levels. \n
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail. \n
- Ability to work independently and liaise with external support providers. \n
