Reed are seeking a dedicated LRC Supervisor to oversee the daily operations and continuous improvement of the Learning Resource Centre in East London. This role is central to providing leadership and direction to a team of LRC Assistants, ensuring high-quality support with print and digital resources, study skills, and technology-enhanced learning.LRC Supervisor

Day-to-day of the role of a Library supervisor

\n
    \n
  • Oversee the day-to-day running of the LRC, ensuring an effective learning environment.
  • \n
  • Manage staff rotas, cover arrangements, and workload allocation.
  • \n
  • Supervise and support LRC Assistants, including performance management and training.
  • \n
  • Deliver student inductions and promote access to LRC resources and services.
  • \n
  • Coordinate LRC events, campaigns, and academic skills workshops.
  • \n
  • Provide excellent customer service and frontline support to students and staff.
  • \n
  • Monitor service performance, analyse feedback, and implement improvements.
  • \n
  • Support administration, reporting, stock control, and equipment management.
  • \n
  • Assist users with IT resources, digital platforms, and information literacy.
  • \n

Required Skills & Qualifications for the Library Assistant role:

    \n
  • Experience working in a library, learning resource centre, or education-focused support environment.
  • \n
  • Supervisory or team leadership experience, including task delegation, rota management, and performance monitoring.
  • \n
  • Experience supporting learners with digital tools, online learning platforms, and information literacy.
  • \n
  • Experience contributing to service evaluation, quality assurance processes, or continuous improvement activities.
  • \n
  • Competent IT skills, with the ability to support learners and staff in using digital tools, online accounts, and e-learning platforms.
  • \n
