Duration: Initial 3-month contract

Rate: £352 per day

About the Role\n

Medway Council is looking for an experienced Pre-14 Case Officer to join its SEND and Inclusion Service on an initial 3-month interim contract.

\n

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and managing Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and annual reviews for children and young people aged under 14 with special educational needs and disabilities.

\n

You will work closely with children and young people, parents and carers, schools, colleges, training providers and relevant professionals to ensure high-quality, outcome-focused EHCPs are developed and maintained.

Key Responsibilities\n
    \n
  • Manage the end-to-end maintenance, review and amendment of EHCPs.
  • \n
  • Ensure EHCP processes are completed within statutory timescales.
  • \n
  • Work collaboratively with families, schools, health professionals and social care services.
  • \n
  • Ensure EHCPs are personalised and reflect the individual needs and outcomes of each child or young person.
  • \n
  • Act as a key point of contact for families, providing guidance and support throughout the EHCP process.
  • \n
  • Maintain accurate records and monitor progress across cases.
  • \n
  • Identify trends and contribute to ongoing service improvement.
  • \n
  • Ensure EHCPs are managed in accordance with relevant statutory requirements.

Essential Requirements\n

To be considered, you must have:

\n
    \n
  • Previous experience working with Pre-14 SEND cases.
  • \n
  • Demonstrable experience of managing EHCP plans.
  • \n
  • Previous Local Authority experience.
  • \n
Working Arrangements\n

The service would ideally like candidates who can work on a hybrid basis from Medway, however fully remote applicants will also be considered.

\n

Priority will be given to candidates who are able to work hybrid.
