HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / Plant Mechanic Gatwick Airport Mon – Fri (flexible on hours) £49,000 – £50,000 Gatwick Airport We are currently recruiting an experienced HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / Plant Mechanic to join a growing team at Gatwick Airport. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled mechanic looking to move into the specialist world of Ground Support Equipment (GSE). You must have experience in GSE, HGVs or Plant. Full training will be provided to develop your skills and enable you to work on Ground Service Equipment at Gatwick Airport. Working as a mechanic, you will be responsible for the servicing, maintenance and repair of a wide range of ground equipment used airside, including towing tractors, aircraft tugs, baggage elevators and other specialist vehicles. Using your existing mechanical knowledge, you will diagnose faults, carry out repairs and complete preventative maintenance to ensure equipment remains safe, reliable and operational. HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / Plant Mechanic -Responsibilities & Duties Servicing, maintenance and repair of GSE equipment. Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out effective repairs. Complete all paperwork to a high standard. Carry out vehicle mechanical and electrical PPM (Planned and Preventative Maintenance) in line with set schedules. Ensure all work is completed safely and to the required standards. Provide a best-in-class service to business customers. Comply with all Health & Safety legislation and company procedures. Liaise with internal customers and colleagues. Assist with general maintenance and repair duties as required. HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / Plant Mechanic -About You Must have experience in at least one of the following: GSE, HGV or Plant. Mechanical experience as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic, Plant Mechanic or similar. GSE experience is desirable but not essential — full GSE training will be provided. Good mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skills. A practical, hands-on approach to maintenance and repair. Able to work safely and professionally in an airport environment. Must have a 5-year checkable history in order to obtain an airside pass. Able to pass a basic criminal record check. HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / Plant Mechanic Hours- Monday – Friday, with flexible working hours. Salary-£49,000 – £50,000 per annum, depending on experience.
